At a butcher's shop in London, a new employee was told to twist the broom handle, to switch it on..

Long weights, blue smoke, nutherovers. Been there, done that. The stores did have left hand drillbits and sticky grease though, which I found surprising, initially.

Not in the UK style shop I was in, but I do remember something about hammers, could have been light hammers, and endless jokes about half holes. Tis a while now, so I've mostly forgotten them.

You'd be better off not snapping the fastener off in the first place, but they are a lot better than a sleazy out.

When middle daughter started vocational training, as a chef, her equally new mate , who trained as a waitress,was sent to a neighboured Restaurant to go and ask for the Soufflé pump😂

There was a sad story about some girl being screwed by her driver during her first day on the job. But she managed to beat up this tight nut head with a spanner.

When first coming here to CH little while ago, when my first IT position was with a small American Bank who didn't believe in local area networks as PCs were supposed to remain personal, my direct boss was the Swiss CEO who liked to run the Informatik as a 'hobby'.

After showing him how to change a motherboard, I asked him whether he would like to screw now or later :o (meaning replace the PC casing). Bearing in mind that I was a young bonny lass at that time, and he was almost granddad age - well, so it seemed at that time to me - at least 39 - his face resembled this last emoji.

He never spoke to me much after that, but I got my LAN approved and implemented, and career looked strangely up since then...

Since then I've always been very cautious with talking technical with non techies.

You have to loudly cackle and then it will turn. However, as any Swiss broom owner, worth their salt, will tell you, the Swiss broom works/turns better with half a cackle finished off with a short yodel. It'll fly like a dream - but never after 10pm ;)
