Better than being named Dr. Deth.
Years ago, my American OH had a physician in the USA whose name was Dr. Coffin. No kidding.

Re: 'Most unfortunate names'

I worked in a call centre in the UK and we had a weekly competition for the strangest contact name.

Winners I can remember;
  • Dwayne Pipe
  • Christopher Mycock (C. Mycock)
  • Mike Hunt (mentioned already)
  • Terence Baggin (T. Baggin)
I wish I could remember more...

Re: 'Most unfortunate names'

I saw a nametag at the big corporation where I used to work:

Harry Cucci.

The doctor who taught us sex education in junior high was named Dr. Teakell.

He told us he debated naming his daughter (who was our age and hot as hell)

Tess Teakell.

Re: 'Most unfortunate names'

ZSC (Zürich hockey club) have a forward who goes by the unfortunate name of Luca C**ti.

If he gets drafted into the show he'll have to change that.

Re: 'Most unfortunate names'

My wife had a student in Florida who parents were very uneducated and could not speak English. When their daughter was born the hospital put the their last name on label for the nursery form and put "Female" in the first name box because the parents had not given the name yet. Well......THEY LEFT IT THAT WAY!! The girl was named Female. They eventually pronounced it Feh-mall-E. Pretty sad.

This was the worst followed very closely by the muslim boy two grades below her with the name Shithead (pronounced shi-theed)

Re: 'Most unfortunate names'

My mortgage broker in the states was named Alex Dick. The best part of the story was that I ALWAYS had to get his emails from my SPAM folder because my mail server assumed it was porn

In my former life as a Chiropodist/Podiatrist, I knew of a colleague called Mr Sillitoe, and another who had a private practice in the Corn Exchange.

Ha! That is the name of our vet here!

In burgdorf the horse butcher is named Horisburger and I always thought that was funny.

Re: 'Most unfortunate names'

Oh, and I once saw a reply from our tech-support to a women referred to as "Frau Fotz".
I admit, I would have great difficulty keeping a straight face (and voice) in a phone-call.
