Top 5 comedies of all time

Hi there again

I'm heading to Germany and DC next month to discuss some new comedy ideas with my writing crew. Not only do we go through scripts, we also discuss the audience's ''taste'' on what makes a great comedy.

Just for my own curiousity, I would like to have as many opinions on what are the 5 best comedy films that have ever appeared in the international box-office. We are actually posting this question on various forums in Germany and the US as well, and we plan on making a final compilation based on all the feedback, which would really help our discussions!

You don't have to post your top 5 in any order, but it would help if you do!

The more the better!

Rick,

Your post is off topic in general chat as it has nothing to do with Switzerland or life in Switzerland. I'm moving this post to Off-topic, please ensure that you post future messages in the correct areas.

Re: Top 5 comedies of all time

This is a very tough question, but here are 5 newer films which are up there in my opinion:

Anchorman
Billy Madison
Old School
The Hangover
Van Wilder
Dumb and Dumber
Austin Powers
The Big Lebowski

Oops guess I need to learn to count. There are some older classics which are probably considered far better than these, but these are the ones that get me.

only 5? - hard picking

1:the big Lebowsky
2: Month Python and the Holy Grail
3: Animal House
4: Ghostbusters
5:the sex life of the potatoes men (not sure about the exact title, but is something like that)

By the way, having a quick look at the posts (including mine ) it seems that no funny movies were made in the last few years, a lot of oldie-goldies there...
