| Hi All,
I've recently moved to Zurich for a financial job over here. I have a pretty advanced level of German having lived in Bavaria for a year and taken German as part of my degree at University (although that's a few years back!)
As far as I'm aware there are several 'German proficiency' exams available. Although I am now working here so don't need to have it as part of a job search I'd still like to have some sort of standard recognition for my ability and guage what my true level is. Is there one particular qualification that is considered by employers as the market standard?
Look forward to hearing your thoughts. | |

Hi Chris -
I think Goethe C1 Prüfung is what you want to pass. This is the level, for example, that the Uni requires from Ausländer to prove their German skills are sufficient for studying in German.
I took this test in June. Prior to the test I studied on an intensive class in Bellingua (Löwenstrasse in Zürich), which I can highly recommend.
good luck!
