Ill teach you english, you teach me german!

Hi,
I recently moved to Lucerne from the U.S.A. Minnesota! I am here for two years, and have a background in nursing. I am looking to meet someone who really wants to learn english, as I REALLY want/need to learn German. We could get together a few times per week or more, depending on you schedule for some sessions! I am very fun, outgoing, love to go to the beach, and am looking for a fun-educational interaction as I would like to work but must first learn German. I think it would be a great way to save money & have fun. Please convo me if anyone is interested. I am 24F thaks,
Michelle

Yes, but I am sure lots of people here also know German and are fluent in other languages which would be beneficial to teaching/learning.

Hi Michelle

To learn the local language is not even a good idea, it's essential!
Unfortunately, many companies in Switzerland use english as the business language so for a person who wants to get integrated, it's much harder to life outside of the firm.

Depending on your knowledge of the german language, I'd emphasize to start with a course at -for example- the Migros Klubschule to get a fundament. Later on, is practicing, practicing and so further on

Hey there

Are you're still looking for someone to teach you german and even swiss german? I'd love to help you. I live in Basel and am desperately looking for someone I could talk english with. My English's pretty good, I understand nearly everything, but I need to work on my accent.

Have a nice day =)

Good thing I checked wikipedia---I almost made a fool of myself because I mistakenly had thought Lucerne was part of the Suisse Romande. I think the Lucerne lion monument, as well as the French-sounding name, made me think it was a French-speaking town. Anyway, I wish her well.

A lass from Minnesota wants to teach people English? I'm disappointed no one made any jokes about proper (British) English, it was a missed opportunity.

I am also working in nursing in Zürich but English is my native language. Better you enroll in a German school to learn it faster.Good luck!
