[German] Help with a letter from the insurance

I applied for dental insurance along with my health insurance recently as I will not be going anywhere where I can get cheap dental work done for a while. As per standard procedure I visited a dentist who examined my teeth and sent off a form to the insurance company. I received a letter a few days ago regarding his assessment. I thought on first reading the letter it said they would not pay for anything and so I was planning to write back to cancel the insurance. Then my girlfriend read it and interpreted it differently but then was immediately uncertain about the meaning (and she's a native speaker ). Hence my need for help.

Here's an extract:

Ihr Zahnarzt hat uns den varlangten Rapport und die Röntgenbilder zugestellt. Aufgrund dieser Angaben informieren wir Sie, dass Sie mit den folgenden Vorbehalten aufgenommen werden:

<insert dentist's recommendations for filllings, redoing crown etc. here>

Eine eventualle spätere Behandlung der oben erwähnten Vorbehalte wird von der <Insurance company> nicht übernommen.

My girlfriend's interpretation of this was that the insurance would help me out with the work the dentist thought should be done but not with any later work. On re reading it, that makes sense to me now but we are still a little uncertain. Can anyone confirm whether her interpretation is correct?

I have a few days still to send a letter to cancel the insurance, but if they are agreeing to help with what the dentist suggested I'll keep it, because it will cost me many pretty pennies otherwise.

Yes that is the correct interpretation.

They are basically excluding repairs to existing / prior damage (pre-existing conditions is the technical term, I think).

Eine eventualle spätere Behandlung der oben erwähnten Vorbehalte wird von der <Insurance company> nicht übernommen.

i thought it was the other way around... ie. if you have problems that need to be done at the time of the assessment, you have to pay that. Then once you sort that out, they pay in the future. thats how I understood my the letter I got. When I went to the first assessment, i needed to get a small filling. They didn't pay that but should pay moving forward.
