That's wrong. The Swiss German text means. I thought, that you'd be very happy now.

I always get confused with 'gluecklich', as to whether it means happy or lucky.

I do too - but I think it's a matter of luck being a state of "having" while happiness is a state of "being"? I wish you (to have) luck / I hope you are happy

I have to admit though, that the first time I encountered the term "glucklich" obviously meaning happy was meeting a mama with her baby at the park, the giggly really cheerful baby was described as "glucklich" so that case it was understood. (A bit of a lightbulb moment for me, as "Glucklich Geburtstag" cards have long made me scratch my head )

unfortunatly tranlating word for word never really functions.

Glueck is Luck i.e. "mer händ aber (ganz) viel Glück cha": we were very lucky

Gluecklich is Happy i.e. "mer send Glücklich gsi." we were happy back then

the swiss dialects use rarely more that three time forms. Everything is based in Future, Präsenz and Past. Easy really.
