Re: Sorry wrong number

I remember a friend from Bern saying "numero" for number. Which would result in a sentence sounding like this: Ds numero isch falsch.

However, I would not reply at all as it could be a scam.

Good advice. They could be looking for people who respond, so they may further the scam.

Re: Sorry wrong number

I think they are wondering who you are?

I had the same thing happen to me with a guy I know in the city who kept sending me texts thinking I was someone else. I took it as a positive sign when it took him 3 or 4 texts to start correcting my Swiss German, which is about the same time he finally realized I wasn't the dude he was looking for.

AH! I understand!

Last month I found someones residence card downtown, and after finding that person out on the internet I contacted them and returned it to their mailbox.

This is them, asking who I am! I understand now

say what you want about scammers, at least they have the courtesy to write in English most of the time.

Yep, they asked you who you are and if you are a man or a woman

I am not from Berne, but you could answer either E gloub, du hesch s'fausche nomero or Eg be en ma (e frou), wöi mer eus mou täffe?
