German Class Zurich? Tandem German-English?

Hi friends,

I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions of a great German Class/School in Zurich? I did an intensive morning Class at Belingua over the summer for 5 weeks and found it great. However, then I started taking the semi-intensive evening class after I started back to working full time and found the pace and homework too much - even more grammar jammed into a shorter teaching span - there was no time for actually chatting or using the language in class. The evening class I found very expensive as well through Bilengua although the teaching quality was excellent. Are there any classes that you can recommend, classes are paced nicely for conversational skills/grammar development? Classes on a daily basis seem to work better for my learning style, however there don't seem to be any daily German classes that meet after 16:00 which is the earliest I could arrive after work. Any tips?

I am at a A2/B1 level of German.

Alternatively, would anyone be interested in a German-English Conversational Tandem? I would be interested to meet at a coffee shop in either Zurich or Thalwil and try this out. I have several different certifications in teaching English.

I just need some extra help in learning German as it is easy to get lazy with watching German films/reading the 20 Minuten... and I need some extra structure/accountability one way or another to learn German :-) Rosetta Stone is also nice, but I need something more at this point.

Thanks for your advice and support in advance! Vielen Dank!

Re: German Class Zurich? Tandem German-English?

I join a small and very friendly school called Worldculture, not far from Paradeplatz. Classes are small (max 6). We are 3 on our grammar class. Teachers are very good.
You can find information on the internet. If you send them an email, you will get a reply within 24h.
Hope this will help you

Re: German Class Zurich? Tandem German-English?

Hello there,

I would be interested in an English-German tandem if you like. I'm Swiss, 44, live and work in Zürich. In 2007 I lived in New York for one year but would still like to speak English from time to time.
I've done tandems in the past. We can meet in Zürich if you wish.

kind regards
