Learn German and or other languages online for free

Hi There,

I just wanted to share with you a (so far) great website where you can learn languages online, for free.

It's called: Duolingo
here is the weblink: https://www.duolingo.com/

And for people who have an App supporting phone, there is an App available as well.
(I have a nokia 3210, so no Apps for me, therefore I can't tell you how that works alas).

Cheers!

Re: Learn German and or other languages online for free

This has been mentioned a few times before on EF.
I've been using Duolingo for a while now, and it is easy to use, fun, and I've found it does work. I have finished the course, but I still use it every day to try and keep the language fresh in my mind.
The app is great too!

I wouldn't loose sleep worrying about it if I were you. If all repeat info was removed from the forum there would be a very big hole in here!
Maybe if a moderator has nothing better to do he might add this thread to an already existing one. A losing battle though.
Maybe in future do a search on here before starting a new thread.
Thanks for trying.

Great!

I´ll try to begin to learn German, however so slow, ´cause I dedicate my time for other activities. I entered in this website, but I need to have a knowledge in German.

Re: Learn German and or other languages online for free

I installed Duolingo app. to see if it would fill any gaps in my knowledge base, but didn't really use it much - certainly not everyday.
Then got fed up with the continual stream of emails, telling me that I needed to do this and that to reach my targets - like a nagging old woman.

They don't come anymore, so I must have disabled them at some point, or 'they've' given up on me as a lost cause.

..... but for a beginner, it seems to be a good [free] resource.

I'm glad you mentioned this. Do you know if there is anyway to skip forward with Duolingo? (other than testing out every level) This still takes too much time if you're at an intermediate level.
