Certified translator help needed!

Hey all!
I am looking for a certified translator for my marraige certificate so I can update my Brit passport (I mean, seriously, it is written in french, german and english and there isn't a single person in the passport office who have a basic grasp of at least one of those languages!?)
Anyhoo, I was wondering if anyone here has done similar, if you used a Swiss or British based service? Any other tips would be greatly appreciated.
I am actually flying with my 9-month old to the UK in January, don't have time to get a new passport and currently have a different surname than my baby, so am somewhat crapping myself about whether or not they will let me fly considering her birth certicate shows surname and surname after marraige. I have a family emergency back home though so I guess I will just try to risk it! Anyone else flown with a child who has a different surname than your own? (The father isn't joining us)
Thanks in advance for any replies

Re: Certified translator help needed!

Take along a copy of the birth certificate, your partners ID, and have a letter from the partner that you can travel with the kid. This even solves it for me and up to today Switzerland refuses to register me as the father, and the last name and even the nationality are different, if this set of papers helps me it should absolutely be enough for you.

Assuming that you want a translator in the Italian region there are people on this forum who can help you more than I can on finding one.

Re: Certified translator help needed!

Thank so so much for your reply! It makes me feel somewhat relieved and fingers crossed all goes well It's shocking how things work here at times (in regards to marraige and parental rights) and I'm very sorry to hear about the recognition of your parental authority. This may not be of any interest of you but the sportello donna (Lugano and elsewhere) also helps men in such legal matters at a very reasonable cost!
I will keep on the hunt for a translator, so I don't spend any more sleepless nights freaking out in bed!!

Which document is already in the 3 languages? Your marriage certificate? If the document already has English on it, I'd ask again at the passport office why it needs translation. (I'd be happy to help, but there's no point your spending money needlessly)

Mio dio... I'm such a Muppet! I meant Italian instead of English! Thanks for pointing that out to me but no, no English to be found on document and that I can understand. But damn the passport office... The UK should learn a little from their European neighbours and try to be a little more international!

Assuming you got married in Switzerland, a cheaper option might be ordering an international marriage certificate. I think it's around 30 CHF in Zürich. Maybe extra processing costs.

My international one was accepted no problem by the UK passport office.
