A bit of German to English translation help please

I've got some cataract ops coming up in the next few weeks and I have to put drops into my eyes beforehand. I'm not quite confident Google Translate and Deepl are right so can anyone who speak German have a look and advise?

Drip scheme before the Star Operation
To dilate the pupil, please drop dilating drops (plastic ampoule) into the eye to be operated on the day of the operation:
One hour before you leave home, please drop 1 drop in the eye every 10 minutes. You no longer have to drip on the way.

Drip scheme before cataract surgery
To dilate the pupil, on the day of the operation, you should drip dilating drops (plastic ampoule) into the eye to be operated on:
One hour before you leave home, please drip 1 drop every 10 minutes in the eye. You do not need to drip any more on the way.

What I'm not sure about is the sentence of one drop every 10 minutes? Is this correct? If so, how do I judge how many drops I'm going to get out of the ampoule?

What's not clear? A drop every 10 minutes one hour before you leave your house. 7 drops in total. I was tempted to say 6 but you'll have one more drop just before you leave your home. If you're not sure about that last drop, then leave it at 6. But I'm pretty sure it won't hurt you.

My mom had this surgery. It's pretty much risk-free (I know what they say, mind). You don't need to worry, seriously.

Thanks greenmount. Not too worried about these ops, though I also have to have the lining on the back of my right eye's retina removed later as that has a hole in it.

No one said and there's nothing on the pack or in the instructions on how many drops the ampoule has in it. They're 1ml packs. Wasn't sure how I could calculate the time.

It is every 10 minutes starting one hour before leaving your home. Say you leave at 7:00 a.m. start at 6:00 a.m. 6:00, 6:10, 6:20...And I think 1 ml ampule will be more than enough.

Get well soon!

I'm surprised you have to do that yourself and in this intensively.

Please be prepared, that dilated pupils are extremely vulnerable to light, sunlight is a killer in fact! Believe me, I know.
Make sure to wear sunglasses!!!
No need to tell you, you can't drive yourself, right?

All the best for your surgery.

Yes, I know curley. I have reactolite (is that the right word/spelling?) glasses so they darken in bright light. And yes, hubby is going to be with me to get me there and back.

Re: A bit of German to English translation help please

In my opinion not only can you then not drive, you should also not go there alone on public transport. Someone needs to go with you, or take a taxi. In any case afterwards you should not leave the hospital without someone with you at your side, all the way right into your home. As you rightly say, the op will be okay, but those drops before and having one patched eye afterwards can influence your perception of distance and depth, so that it becomes much easier to mis-judge a step. You don't need a fall on top of everything else.
Hope it all works out well!

EDIT:
Oops, your post above this came in just as I was typing mine
Sorry. Good that your husband will be with you.

Re: A bit of German to English translation help please

If we trust Wikipedia than 1ml equals 20 drops. As you have to use 6 or 7 drops 1ml should be enough.
