Checking the accuracy of this German to English Translation

Hi everyone,

For the following sentence in German:

"Schriftliche Bestatigung, dass nach Abschluss der Ausbildung (Angabe des verbind-lichen Datums) die Ausreise aus der Schweiz anstandslos und fristgerecht erfolgen wird."

Google translate gives me the following:

"Written confirmation that after completing the training (stating the binding date), you will leave Switzerland without complaint and on time."

Is the English translation accurate?

Yes. If you receive a study permit as a non-EU, you have to agree you'll leave the country when studies are completed.

Re: Checking the accuracy of this German to English Translation

I am amazed by the improvements in Google translate over the last five years. It now produces much better French, German, Welsh, Latin, Japanese, etc than I could ever hope to write. After reviewing its output with my French tutor I now trust it almost completely. Has anyone had any bad experiences?

I use it, but find there are some words that don't translate from German to English. I also use an app called Reverso that lets you see words in the context of a sentence. It's paid for, costs about 5 a year and you can use it for grammar and lessons.

Looks like deepl.com put pressure on Google Translate and it improved.

deepl.com gives:
"Written confirmation that after completion of the training (indication of the binding date) the departure from Switzerland will take place without difficulty and within the prescribed period."

deepl.com lets you use different variants and you can see dictionary entry for all words (click on the words in the original and/or translated text). Playing a bit around I get:

"Written declaration that after completion of the training (please state the binding date), departure from Switzerland will take place without objection and in due time."

I find it annoying that when you translate, say, directly from German to Spanish, it seems to go via English as an intermediate language. I really don't see why they picked English for this purpose as this doesn't map many features common to many other European languages such as the distinction between Du / Sie, meaning that the translation often flips these terms.

Deepl is closer/better and I would write it as follows, although "binding date" troubles me.

Written confirmation that after completion of the training (forming the binding date) the departure from Switzerland will take place without objection and within the prescribed period."
