Cost of German language classes for 1 year?

What would be the approximate cost of attending two evening classes per week for a year? My current level of German is very basic, so I would probably enrol on a beginner course.

I'm asking as my employer may be able to offer me some funding and I need to provide them with an approximation of the cost.

Thanks in advance for your help!

Here are a couple I found. Please note that I don't know either of them personally, and I can't therefore vouch for them. You'll find pricing on their websites.

If your employer is big enough and is interested in other employees learning German, then German lessons for companies might be of interest.

Good luck!

I don't know how basic "very basic" is, but, I'd recommend using Duolingo to get you up to A1 or A2 standard before going to classes. I skipped A1 and got about 300 Duolingo "crowns" before going to the A2 class. I'd recommend being more like 400 "crowns", as I was the weakest member of my class.

Personally, I only find classes useful for getting used to speaking and listening. For vocab and grammar I prefer sitting their by myself with a textbook.

It's also worth it to have a look at italki.
I used them to learn Spanish and for me at least, it was better than Duolingo. Duolingo is fine for practice but I climbed the learning curve faster when I worked with an italki tutor who customised lessons to my level.

Classroom learning is ok, but I seemed to always end up with a knucklehead or class clown or diva that disrupted the class a bit.

Tip: put the subtitles on when watching television. It can make a difference.

One last thing: I don't recommend trying to learn a language after a long day at work.
