Uneducational or non educational

My spelling checker is telling me there is no such word as

uneducational, which I thought there was.

I mean it just uneducated isn't it.

It says non educational, which ok means the same but .. no I want one word, the opposite of educational.

uneducational Surely.

If an exercise was Educational, it would mean that something would improve your education - make it better and create new brain pathways.

If uneducational were to exist, an exercise that was uneducational would make it worse - physically removing pathways from your brain and making you less clever.

Non-educational simply means there is no educational value in an exercise so there is no benefit, but equally no loss in that exercise - watching paint dry perhaps or reading English forum's Donald Trump thread.

Try unpedagogical, if it fits the context.

A person can be educated. An activity can be educational. But a person can't really be educational, and an activity can't be educated.

Unpedalogical isn't in any online dictionary either. (source onelook.com - but so what? recombobulate isn't there either!).

Miriam-webseter.com offers the following antonyms: unenlightening, unilluminating, uninformative, uninstructive

Wouldn't that be diseducational instead?
Like, integrate/disintegrate, associate/disassociate (shortened to dissociate), respect/disrespect, etc.

unresponsive and nonresponsive don't seem to be different, both say "lack of response". Same with uneducated, lack of education. Yes, uneducated =/= uneducational, but still.

I had to goggle that and yes, it appears to be a word but I don't believe it's in common use.

In this context though, I'm sure it's not what the OP meant but it would certainly be the word that described "uneducational".

Prefixes in English are one of those things that have no rhyme or reason to them. You canít just stick un or dis or in etc in the front of a word and expect it to mean what you think it should

Diseducational does seem to exist but I have never seen it used.

I didn't mean to say that diseducational exists or is in broad use, but that it's the word that matches your description (physically altering the brain like you described it, or forgetting at will) rather than uneducational.

Diseducational yes.

With educate, you usually educate something/someone. You provide an education. Someone receives an education. The experience was educational. If you don't receive it you're uneducated but you haven't been through an experience of uneducation.

If someone starts to lose their mind they can become diseducated, their experience has been diseducational.

I'm not sure if for something that is of no educational value there should be the word uneducational. Fiction, fictional. Non-fiction. Non-fictional. uneducation isn't a thing so probably neither should uneducational be.
But then again, you have unconfrontational but you don't have unconfront
