[French] Looking for private lessons in Lausanne
 

Hi there :msngrin:

I have recently arrived in Lausanne and am looking for a private french teacher. I have had a look at some of the schools, most of which seem to be quite rigid and structured, some only offering group classes.

I am a beginner, and need to get up to speed ASAP. I am looking for a teacher who is quite flexible, and who would allow me to do quite a bit of self-study.... If anyone has any suggestions of how I could go about finding a teacher, or any specific details, I would really appreciate the help!

Hi Sarah,

There is a lovely lady who comes to my office and teaches 4 of us English guys French, at differring levels. I find her really friendly and my french has come on loads since she started helping us.

I know she does a couple of private lessons for some others so if you want, I can ask her if she is looking for any more students at the moment?

For ultimate flexibility you can always try Berlitz in Lausanne. I've been taking private lessons there for a month now and I can book when I like, and cancel with a days notice. Teachers are great (you can insist on the same one if you find one you particularly like) and with 1-2-1 teaching I feel that I've learned more in a month than in a year from books/cds.

Bit expensive though as you need to pay up front for 36 lessons..

We live in Lausanne, and we need the flexibility of private lessons
I wonder if you could pass on the message to your teacher.
By the sounds of this thread she may get too busy(!), so if you know (or she) knows of any other teacher, we'd be grateful for the introduction
