iii) Your location:

Well, basic info is: I'm in my early 20s, was raised in Zurich to English-speaking parents, go to University and like going to concerts. I'v always been interested in Russia and last spring I finally started to seriously learn the language. I've been in a course but could really need some extra practice; and I'd enjoy hearing some stories or daily life anecdotes from Russia too.
In exchange I could give some help or plain conversation in either German or English.

Re: Find Your Tandem/Language Exchange Partner on EF!

I am currently half way through my Intensive A2 Hoch Deutsch course. I completed my A1 three months ago. I intend to complete B1 and B2 by the middle of next year.

I am British and speak good English with a clear London accent.

I live in central Basel Stadt.

I am interested in philosopy, psychology, therapy, meditation, spiritual and religious matters. I like long country walks.

I am married with a 12 year old daughter.

I would particularly like to join up with a native German / Swiss speaker who wants to learn to speak English at a high level. Perhaps someone studying for a degree in which being able to speak English is necessary. It would be a wish come true if that person was studying at Basel University as I intend to study there once I have attained a good enough level of German. I need help with the use of basic German.

I was an Au Pair from 2009-2010, I lived with a German family in Zurich and took German lessons. I went back to Canada for a year to complete my studies and did not speak a word of German while I was there. I've been back in Switzerland since August 2011, got married to my Swiss boyfriend and have been struggling a bit in German. I've taken a TESOL teaching course, so I have a lot of English teaching resources. I am currently a cover teacher at 2 international schools, so unless there is a flu outbreak, I tend to have a lot of free time.

Re: Find Your Tandem/Language Exchange Partner on EF!

Hello ZuriG!

I'm a new member in this forum and for this reason not (yet) so familiar with using it... However, I hope that I could manage it and you will get this message...

I'm looking for someone with who I can practise English spoken conversation in particular (written would certainly be nice as well!). I actually don't know exactly my English level but I'd say it might be around first level or maybe a bit higher.

Language(s) you speak natively:
My mother tongue is Swiss German/German.

Your location
Unfortunately, I leave in Luzern (or Lucerne if you like ) which is not so close to Zürich but I wouldn't mind to drive to Zürich from time to time (if you also wouldn't mind to come over to Lucerne from time time )...

However, if this would be an option for you, we could also chat to each other via Skype.

Personal Interests
Cinema/film (action, drama, biography), reading, badminton

Short introduction about yourself
I work in an international company and therefore use English on a daily basis. However, since my conversation is mainly by email my spoken English is not as good as I'd like it would be. I'm therefore looking for someone with who I could practise some English and who doesn't mind (or better doesn't fear ) to correct me. This is actually very important for me since I otherwise might never improve my spoken English.

So if you don't mind that I'm not from Zürich I would be very pleased to start communication to each other!

Hope to hear from you soon!

Best regards,
Michaela

Im also looking to practice Spanish in exchange for English. I lived in a Spanish-speaking country for two years and spoke good Spanish - its now rusty after a year or two without practice.
