Re: People leaving Switzerland

I suppose living as an expat has this situation on a regular basis. It is one of the challenges of living abroad, unless you fully integrate, that people will continue to move around. Then again the opposite might be a situation where you never leave your home town. Each has its positives and negatives I suppose.

Re: People leaving Switzerland

It's the time of the year when containers pop up in every street.
On the school run, passing those containers, we usually shout " goodbye and good luck"

And it's the time of the year when starfish junior always packs pjs and a toothbrush in his schoolbag, as everyday another buddy is leaving and all those little chaps end up sleeping over one last time...

Our container will arrive in 3 weeks .... and guess how many of those little guys already showed up with their pjs... mattresses everywhere .. and once out of the pool they all end up in the kitchen like hungry puppies...

There is a constant flow of people coming and leaving, but I don't think it makes one's own move easier ...
Packing up one's life somewhere is usually messy, exhausting, very exciting and a bit scary..

Good luck to all those coming or going!

Re: People leaving Switzerland

We are leaving in six months and it is really hard to get into gear to think about saying goodbye to friends we've made here and to prepare oneself mentally to make new friends in the new location. It's seems that by the time one finally has made a few friends.... the time to relocate comes.
