Re: Had enough - time to go back to Norfolk

The potatoes are just a smokescreen - right? It's those mountainous peaks all over Norfolk that have you pining for the lakes and snow that you just don't get in Switzerland. Shame. I reckon a bit of decent mustard will keep you happy...

No, I tried doing a turkey curry once as its much cheaper but it was fowl..........

The problem is all the Swiss girls go round in FMB's (even to work).. but yet they are impossible to make any progress with...

Re: Had enough - time to go back to Norfolk

I think it's a good thing when a person realizes a place is not for them and decides to move on. What ever the reason.

Good luck for the move and enjoy your spuds.

Problem is need to find a balance between the two. It's like going from one extreme to the other....

Re: Had enough - time to go back to Norfolk

A week ago there was a Swiss miss complaining about fat Geordie women eating crisps in Newcastle, so maybe you'll find a happy medium. Good luck!

Interesting point you make about going back. Indeed since I have been here 14 years the UK has changed utterly and completely - for the worse I might add.
I return to see my kids who live in the Midlands but in truth it is now a strange place to me. I dont think I can ever return to live there. In fact am planning to retire to Spain. Sad sometimes to think you can't go back.

I find the same, the UK has of course moved on and developed since I was last living there, when I go back it seems a strange place and there's plenty of things I don't understand. I don't know if I could live happily there now having lived abroad for 18 years now, time and places don't stand still but this is proof of the old adage "you can never go home"

Well, the only conclusion we can come to based what we read from these two users is that UK men are all about easy women and potatoes in various forms......

Well, the truth is it's hard to go back to the past. When I was in London a while back, I remembered the fun times I had there and really missed it. But it wasn't just the place I missed, it was a different life and a different time. I have no time machine to re-live those times and I'm not sure I would want to.
Absolutley. I found in my mid twenties that it was good going back to a few places I'd previously lived in (aborad) for closure - just to close that episode of my life, and to realise that things have indeed moved on...
