Good bye before hello and THANK YOU

Now, this is going to be a strange one as I have to say "Good bye" before I was able to say "Hello" and HUGE THANK YOU for all the wonderful people on this forum. Well my Swiss dream is not going to happened and I will not be able to make a proper introduction, but since I spend so much time going back and forth to this amazing country, making plans, making friends, getting job and learning so much about the culture I do feel like saying proper good byes.
Well,to make the story short-my swiss boyfriend came to the conclusion…….after hmmmm years that commitment is not for him and he wants to spend his life alone, and he doesn't want me in Switzerland because "he doesn't know what he wants"………at 48…….
Life is very cruel sometimes……..LOVE TO ALL OF YOU AND THANK YOU FOR ALL YOUR HELP!!!

I think staying in Swiss or not is a choice for you rather than him...

If you have a job and a permit and friends here there's no reason you can't stay...

Re: Good bye before hello and THANK YOU

You are right, but I never moved to CH yet and due to the circumstances I think I'll be better of around friends and family in Canada.

I think you're wise to stay in Canada. Being a foreign country can feel quite alienating.
Well, it's his loss. You'll find someone better, in time.
I wish you much happiness!

Goodness! You've been a member since 2008!

You could always stick around the EF - there are a few scrummy canadians around here, even if they do say so themselves...

Wow, ..... first thought... what an assh*le!

Switzerland is a fantastic country but i agree sometimes its best be be near friends/family and figure out what you want!

Plus, i think, your ex.... should jus get a cat!

I suppose this thread was about him:

Swiss-German dating and etiquette style or how to tell if the guy is serious

Re: Good bye before hello and THANK YOU

Well, of course, I had hesitation as I never was involved with swiss germans before and I had to ask, search internet, read books etc…….and took a chance…….All I can say that in a sense I got very lucky.... put hold on my move (break up took place in April), made the decision not to give him any other chances and that we don't have any children together.
I am upset now, but will be fine!
