Hi all,

considering to use the Liberty Pension fund to move out funds from a 3a and vested account.

Could anyone share the experience in 2017? Any better provider?

Thanks.
Help me understand: why does one need a third party to handle this? Only for convenience, or are there any other reasons? Can't you just take the 2 and 3. pillars out yourself when leaving CH?

Trying to save some tax, need to fill in extra forms so it's an extra process & more work.

Thanks. I assumed there is no time limit and you can get it within 30 days after leaving the country?

Thanks. I actually spoke to them right now as I wanted to know the definite answer and they said there is no minimum time you need to have been out of the country as long and you have left the company and have deregistered. Good to know.

Re: Anyone used Liberty Pension fund?

Hi all
Does anyone have any recent experience with Liberty Pension? They claim their fees are low and I'm wondering if that is indeed the case. Also, do they require you to keep the account open for a minimum period of time? thanks

They generally have exit fees, you have to work out if it's worth the tax saving in tax over extra fees & delays.

Compared to other SZ funds, yes it's on the low side - 475 Fr flat fee. Others charge more. All SZ pension funds monetize on SZ low tax regime through exit fees, there are no free / cheap options there

Whereas non SZ pension funds usually don't have any exit fees but then you have higher taxes to pay. But if you have to pay tax on withdrawal in your new country it might not matter after all as swiss tax should be refunded to you once you prove you declared withdrawal to new country and they're going to tax it.

no, but they have processing times of 15-30 days for withdrawals if you consider that holding time
