Re: Moving to north Germany from Basel
Pack your stuff, and number the boxes. Then make an inventory of what is in each box (rough description, clothes, DVDs, books etc) plus the bed, the cupboard etc.
Make about 5 photocopies, and drive to Germany over a busy crossing, you won't normally be stopped, and you won't normally pay any MWSt as these are your belongings. In the very worst case you will need a Spediteur to complete a form for the customs.
Take copies of your Swiss Abmeldung, old and new work contracts, rental agreements etc, receipts etc, to prove you are moving home.
