AVS refund

Hi people!

How long will it take to get my AVS refund? Do you know?

I sent the documents in December.

Thank you.

Re: AVS refund

2-3 months, in my case. just call them and ask if you think it has been 3 months now.

Re: AVS refund

I doubt you're going to get much of one, but these may help:

https://www.sem.admin.ch/dam/data/se...zialvers-e.pdf

Tells you where you need to apply and what documents you need to provide.

Also this on pensions:

https://www.ch.ch/en/withdraw-pension-early

However, unless you can have payments made into your Brazilian bank account the only other way would be to return to Switzerland to receive the payment personally somehow.

Re: AVS refund

I suspect you are not eligible to claim if you left in 2006 since there is a 5 year limit to make the rfund claim within

Re: AVS refund

Hi all!

I received the AVS refund last week, but just 14k chf. I worked about 4 years and half and my salary was 115k per year.

The AVS refund is less than 2nd pillar? Is it correct?

Tks

Re: AVS refund

Does one have to keep a Swiss bank account for the refund or will they transfer internationally?

Re: AVS refund

I started my process two weeks ago, I am expecting a few rounds of correspondence tennis as I cannot get something like proof of returning to the UK from my local council. Something like that just doesn't exist so I am using utility and council tax bills in the hope that these will be enough.

Re: AVS refund

Hi All,

I have recently applied for the AVS refund but received a reply today from the compensation office to say this is not possible as Switzerland and UK have a 'convention agreement'.

Is that correct for the UK?

any feedback greatly received

thanks

Re: AVS refund

Switzerland has a social security agreement with the EU. Although there are rumors that the UK may be leaving the EU, the EU social security agreement is still likely valid until it does. For support see the paragraphs at the bottom of this link:

Yes.

However, I believe Fatmanfilms has been able to take his out so maybe he'll be along soon to tell you how to do it.

That's true! I lost all my work rights 'cause after my last contact with Swiss authorities by a letter I've never had an answer even if I keep all the forms to apply and official docs sent by them and my employers from Geneva. So, I heritaded a lot of swiss docs occupying my desk for nothing ...
