Switzerland to Canada

Swiss Canuck here moving back to Canada.

Earlier when I did this, I just shipped some personal stuff via post to Canada. However now with my wife and us being a bit further along in life, we found that it's no longer cheaper to just buy it all again. Anyone have any good recommendations for a moving company to Canada. It'll be a partial move (size wise, the move itself is the full deal), about 18 boxes, bed desk, buffet, table and chairs.

Re: Switzerland to Canada

Hi Arthur, We're in the same boat and considering the same size type move.
I'm also looking for help, as this time, being, as you say, a little older (not to mention worn out), we would need to take a little more back than we came with. I'm looking into services from http://www.helloswitzerland.ch/leaving-switzerland. I would be glad to hear about any information you come across. We won't likely be going anywhere before summer, as my husband has medical stuff going on in the interim. I'm not expecting to get away under 10,000 CHF

We did this back and forth 30 years ago too, and that time we went back to Canada with a 7cu. meter crate with Kehrli & Oerler. It went well, but I think prices have about doubled.

All the best.

Sorry I'm so late.

My relocation, reported on here, was different in that is was almost two 20 ft containers to the USA.

ReloSwiss, the company in Gossau SG that did it, does pretty much all countries. They cooperate with companies in the destination countries, and they usually know those from personal experience. In my case, everything went smoothly, and working with Simona of ReloSwiss was a delight. We ended up with one broken wine glass, which was my fault, because it had been packed by m.h.s..

I can't say it was a steal, but it was worth every penny.
