Said goodbye to CH and hello to FR

A fond farewell to all of you as we begin our new adventure. I hope I was able to help from time to time on EF and, equally as importantly, you all provided me with some much needed laughs over the years.

You all know that, while Mr. Big was running the electrical world on 3 continents, I was busy learning French to a level where I could go to wine school in Nyon to become a vigneronne in anticipation of the day where the hubs would retire.

That day has come and we are now making wine at our chateau in Saussignac, France. We invite ALL of you, even the ones who groaned me, to come visit. Also, I am full of advice for anyone leaving CH and going to FR who is non-EU. (It was super easy.)

You can follow our new FB page at Chateau de Fayolle Saussignac and send me a message any time. I would love to hear from you.

By the way, our real names are Riki and Frank Campbell and we are like the Chamber of Commerce for Switzerland and a font of information for noobs who are trying to adapt.

One more thing. Let the record be clear. I believe I was the first person to ask for real brown sugar. Just so that fact doesn't get warped over time. Grands bisous to all of you.

What a beautiful place to 'retire' to. I do envy you finding your place in the World, and wish you all the very best.

Livin' the dream. Wow.

Thanks for all the laughs, advice, and common-sense-with-a-twinkle-in-the-eye over the years. You will be much missed on EF. And if I may be so bold as to ask: if you have a moment or two as you watch the Dordogne sunset, glass of red in hand, please pop by EF now and again.

Here's to much success and even more happiness in this new chapter!

I've just shown OH the chateau's website - wow again! - and he is turning all sorts of green with envy. As retirement options go, a vineyard in France beats fishin' on the Ol' Mill Pond hands down. Maybe you'll inspire him to think a little father outside the box when he retires.

Re: Said goodbye to CH and hello to FR

A wonderful new adventure it seems (yep, I checked the website too) and you're heading for it well prepared apparently.

May your summers be the perfect mix of sweetening sun and nourishing rain and your harvest be rich. The rest you learnt at school.

I never groaned at you so if I ever come your way - this curly creature sure wouldn't mind putting her feet up for a few days on those wonderful premises of yours.
All the best!
