| | Relocating / Sale of Household Items
I am relocating out of Switzerland and would like to sell my high value household goods - at a deep discount. Additionally, I am considering holding an open house to sell the full spectrum of my household goods (ranging from cookware to bedroom furniture). Finally, I am using ricardo, tutti and ebay, and would also appreciate finding out more here about other on-line platforms to sell my goods.
3 questions:
1) Does anyone have any relevant experience holding an open house here?
2) What other on-line platforms could I use to sell my goods?
3) Are there any Second Hand stores which would buy household items?
Thank you for any advice that anyone can provide.

There are many second hand stores. Google it. Put your list on EF with pictures |

Have you thought about using facebook and create a page there to sell your household items? As facebook is most widely used, you might get a good response from there!
Try it out!

Hi,
What did you decide to do, and how did it go?
I am also thinking of how to get rid of the stuff, and Brocki seems like a good option if lots don't get sold. They come and pick up everything.
Then there is this "gratis /zum Mitnehmen" thing, but I am not sure how it works in Zürich? Can I just put my stuff any given day to a street? Does it have to be front of the house, ours is located so that there would hardly be many seeing it? And is it enough I take things back in 24 hours if something is left?
I would prefer to sell some of the stuff, but so far no luck with fb groups – can not find a good group either without enormous list of rules and getting my posts deleted or having too small amount people joined the group. Any good tips? I did lots of searches in fb but no good result.
Tutti.ch seems okay... maybe I go for that.
But would be nice to hear how people have succeeded. |

They come and pick up everything. | | | | | Be careful here - always clarify exactly what a Bröcki will, or will not, accept. And ask if they charge you to transport items.
Around my area, Bröckis tend to be very selective, I don't know of any that will come and pick up everything. All refuse items in less than pristine condition, most have restrictions on types of furniture, kitchenware, clothing, games, toys, etc. they can take. Few accept electronics, and most ask for a transport fee.
YMMV. But clarify upfront.
Good luck with your move.

Why not advertise them here in the for sale section? | Quote: | | | | | Hi,

Sure thing, it costs, but then again, if it starts to seem too difficult to find another way, maybe one just has to accept that crap you own has its cost in a way or another. Donating via fb/tutti etc. would of course come first.

We held a Vide Maison last Sunday which was very successful. However we live just over the border in France, but have to say, nothing was stolen or strayed and people were friendly and pleasant.
Ricardo is good, but generally only if you start with a very, very low price.
Anibis is another platform which has a high success rate. There is also Glocals but they tend to be more active in the Geneva/Lausanne/Vevey areas.
We made 500.-- and divested ourselves of a huge amount of rubbish. But there is still a large amount to go, {that's the trouble with having a huge house, one simply tends to fill it} but these items will all be given away or will go to the Emmaüs organisation, which is a very worthwhile charity [in our area]. Good luck....turning out, sorting, and packing away is not for the faint-hearted, let alone international moving | The following 2 users would like to thank evianers for this useful post: | |

I am also relocating and have tried to sell some furniture through FB marketplace groups and have found them to be full of time wasters!!!
Your job may have a selling page on their intranet that may help with the selling.
