Wife is leaving Geneva for a contract role in UK
Hi all
Apologies if its a repeat. But I just wanted to ask a couple of questions related to my currently unemployed wife leaving Geneva for the UK, as I couldn't find it in the forum already. Also it goes without saying that I will need to take proper financial advice.
We both moved to Geneva in 2017 for my permanent job. My wife has been unable to find any work while here in Geneva, it seems to be a bit slow these days. Anyway, she has actually secured a contract role for up to 6 months back in London (where we originally came from). I will continue to rent our flat here, and she will come back at weekends.
How would this affect her Permit B? Who do we need to tell? I will advise the authorities of outside employment on the tax forms? However, is it best for her to officially give up her permit B and be registered as living in the UK. One consideration is that she is not British but in fact Spanish, so we have also one eye on Brexit.
Appreciate any thoughts and opinions, thanks.
