Leaving Switzerland in the middle of medical treatment

Hello,

In late August I had an accident which was covered by the non-occupational accident insurance from my employer (SUVA). Up until now, my medical treatment has continued. At the end of this month, I will leave Switzerland and move to the Netherlands.

Does anybody know what happens to my treatment? Does SUVA cover the medical costs in the Netherlands to finish the treatment? Or does it have any sort of agreement with some insurance companies there to take over my treatment costs?

Thanks,
Moh.

Why don't you ask SUVA directly, far easier, far more accurate

(since 20 years we been running a training programme for SUVA and i am please to announce that we have no reached the milestone where they no longer bite)

Thanks for your reply. I am going to call them soon but wanted to know more about the law before making a call. Just in case they say something against the law so that I can shout at them ;-).

Re: Leaving Switzerland in the middle of medical treatment

If your treatment falls under what is insured under a base insurance the Dutch insurance would just take over if Suva does not pay anymore.

And if they somehow feel they are entitled to money from Suva that is their problem and not yours.
