Posting goods to the Netherlands

Hello all,

I am going to post many items including clothes, books, and other goods to the Netherlands. The weight is about 30 Kg. I am trying to create a waybill form online where I have to describe the contents of the parcel. The issue is that in the guidelines it is mentioned to describe in detail what is included in the parcel. However, I can only mention 5 items on the list.

So, does anyone have any experience of sending goods abroad? How much details did you write? Could you please give me an example? My parcel will contain 30-40 pieces of clothes, many books and plates...

Thanks,
Moh.

Re: Posting goods to the Netherlands

As your location is Lugano, you might consider sending it from Italy so that the package doesn't have to through customs. Might make it easier.

Re: Posting goods to the Netherlands

There's a difference in value, and therefore potentially in import duties, between new goods which are being sent as gifts or for sale, or you own personal used goods.

If they are your own things (or the personal items of someone who left them with you but has moved/returned to NL) that have already been used, then write on the label

USED, PERSONAL, HOUSEHOLD GOODS:
CLOTHES, BOOKS, KITCHENWARE.

VALUE EURO 20 (or EURO 30, or whatever you'd be likely to get if you tried to sell them).

If they are new, and especially if you are selling them, then you'll have to add up the value of the invoices.

If I'm shipping to the EU I invariably cross the border to Divonne and send it from there. Most courier companies have offices in the Pay de Gex.
