obtaining swiss citizenship/moving to Canada/Usa

Hi all

I would like to ask you the following question: Does obtaining a Swiss citizenship will be of any help if I'm willing to immigrate to Canada/USA afterwards? I currently hold an EU passport(holidays in the US or Canada are not a problem) and will be soon eligible to become a swiss citizen. I've heard about the Canadian working holiday visa, can one stay in the country legally after the visa expires? What about the quebec federal program ? would it be easier to move to canada or the US? (on L1 office transfer visa)

Are there any immigration attorneys in Switzerland that i could contact in order to get more precise answers? I hold a degree in Buisness administration from a British university and have completed an apprenticeship here in Switzerland (KV)

Thank you for your answers Cheers Theo

If you can get L1 just stick to that plan, as it's the easiest way to move to the US. Having a Swiss passport doesn't help obtaining L1.

https://www.canadaonlinevisa.com/eta...wiss-citizens/

"For Swiss nationals transiting through Canada, it is not necessary to have a transit visa as they are able to transit using their Electronic Travel Authorization. However, as with entering the country, it can only be used when entering and leaving via a Canadian airport.

The eTA for Swiss citizens does not grant the right to live or work in Canada."

Re: obtaining swiss citizenship/moving to Canada/Usa

However, having your Swiss citizenship will make it wonderfully easy to return to Switzerland, should you leave, but later don't like life in Canada or the USA, and change your mind and want to return.

As an EU citizen you can return to Switzerland and live here if you can support yourself, but as a Swiss citizen you can always return, no matter your financial or employment situation.

Indeed.

Fortunately my kids also have Canadian and US citizenship, so no problem.

If you have Iranian or North Korea stamps on your EU passport, it may help.
