Toy donation

Hello,

I tried to donate some toys (in very good condition) at the Emmaus near where we live. They were refused because the man said they already had too many. Does anyone know where else I can donate these toys? They are taking up space in my storage and I hate the idea of taking them to the recycling center and just throwing them away.

Many thanks,
BBCH

Re: Toy donation

I think they are trying to "donate" toys, i.e. to a needy family, i.e. a family that cannot afford an internet connection

As for suggestions - churches, daycares/kindergartens, kids hospital, pediatrician's office, etc.

Re: Toy donation

I don`t know where you live but by us Oerlikon they have twice a year a set up to bring everything even toys to the GEZET etc. it is organized by the community. We live in Kreis 11 so I contact them and it`s March and october. I know you may not want to wait that long but it may be something to keep in mind for the next batch of things you need to give away
Definitely take pics and post them here on the EF maybe you will have some takers Especially if they are for free
What kinds of toys do you have and for what age group?

good luck

Re: Toy donation

After Christmas there's usually a collection at most (all?) Post Offices called "second Christmas". They collect toys and other articles which have been given as Christmas presents but aren't really wanted, and these are then forwarded to children's homes etc. free of charge
