I belive if someone asks for where to buy a Rolex despite he has a watch dealer next door. You should not take this too serious anyway. Whats with the guy who swears "twat" in this topic?
This is a ladies watch. http://www.rolex.com/en#/rolex-watch...r-m116234-0032 |

It is well known that this makes noise when you move your hand. | | | | | ..hmm, you mean like in a vertical up and down movement of the hand? You know, generally speaking, you should take off your watch when doing that....but if you use lube, the links don't make so much noise anymore. |

Parmigiani... | | | | | Well, in my opinion Parmigiani is a really nice brand but when it comes to value for money you still can't beat a nice slice of mature cheddar.

To the OP, this is what you do:
1. Buy 1 share in Signet Jewellers (LSE:SIG) for about £25, get the share certificate issued in your name and they will send you their 10% discount card.
2. Call your local Ernest Jones dealers who sell Rolex (check the EJ website) to source your desired watch.
3. Make your purchase using your discount card and ask them to fill in the VAT refund form. Unfortunately, it's a Global Refund form (as opposed to VAT 407) and they take about 5% commision, so you only get about 12.5% of the VAT back. Optionally, you can apply for 0% finance over 2 years, but this didn't work for me the last time I tried as they weren't happy that I wasn't a UK resident. Make sure you have the watch with you and get the form stamped from HMR&C at the airport.
4. Go home, sit back, crack open a beer and congratulate yourself for saving 22.5% off the list price.
I have bought occasionally for myself or close family since I have been in ZH and this works every time.
Not a fan of the watches you have your eye on, much prefer the new sports models (DSSD, GMTIIc, new Sub) . . . each to their own I suppose. | The following 2 users would like to thank Anfield for this useful post:

| | Re: Help me decide on these Rolex watches and where to buy | Quote: | | | | | Done!
I found a store in the UK willing to give me a nice discount plus the Tax refund...and I've reserved it.
Thank you all for your help and thoughts.
Thought I would be cheeky and ask which store in the UK you decided to use in the end. I'm also looking to get a nice watch and like you, was unconvinced that I would get a good deal from the stores over here.
Good luck with your purchase! |

...or you could just find one of the many independants around zurich who will give you 25% off as a matter of course and save yourself all the aggravation.
PM me and I can send you a couple of names.

There are Rolexes and there are Rolexes. Try getting a discount on a Daytona or new Submariner, you'd be laughed out of the shop and rightly so. Blanket statements like "25% off as a matter of course" are utterly meaningless unless you specify which models you're referring to. My money would be on the unpopular models the dealer can't shift.
My method guarantees almost 30% off (now that UK VAT has gone up ) the list price of ANY watch that a UK dealer has in stock.

LOL | Quote: | | | | Try getting a discount on a Daytona or new Submariner, you'd be laughed out of the shop and rightly so. | | | | | Anybody who actually needs to put down in writing that you cannot get a discount on a stainless Daytona should check the time and stop assuming that he is dealing with a room full of idiots. If you're referring to the new Sub, no idea, but a green bezel sub two years ago, yep, 25% off.

Which dealer will give the OP 25% off a Daytona? There is a 5-8 year waiting list on these and all the dealers I have spoken to say they would have no problem selling these at a premium. | Quote: | | | | | If you're referring to the new Sub, no idea... | | | | | Exactly, hence the term "blanket statement". | Quote: | | | | | ...but a green bezel sub two years ago, yep, 25% off. | | | | | Unfortunately, this obsolete model was not on the OP's wish list. Suggest you start visiting the planet a bit more frequently. Groan away......

I also like the 3rd one but I don't have the experience to tell you where to buy.
