Tax paying for imported shoes

I am planing to import shoes that cost 200$. May I end up paying a tax when picking up the shoes at the post office or when the shoes are delivered by DHL? Thanks in advance.

Re: Tax paying for imported shoes

DHL will calculate a duty based on declared value of said items and send that to you after the delivery.

Do taxes apply to a 200$ purchased product? If yes, does anyone know how to compute it?

Or you'll get a request to call them and pay the duty before they'll deliver the product.

Re: Tax paying for imported shoes

200 x 8% plus something like 15 francs for working it out for you. So around 30 francs.

Re: Tax paying for imported shoes

I'd double check on the DHL fees. Last I heard they were around CHF45 for "customs brokerage". If you can send it via the national post the fees are generally lower.
