Laura Ashley

Hello

Does anybody know a shop that sells Laura Ashley-type furniture/home goods? I am not a big fan of modern home styling but prefer the vintage/romantic style interiors. If you know a shop like this in ZH, please let me know.

Thank you
Beatrix

There used to be a Laura Ashley in Kuttelgasse, but it's now a designer clothing shop. Zurich's not short of high-end furniture/fabric/home shops, many--predictably--in the area between Paradeplatz/Sihlporte or in Seefeld. These are two you might want to check out:

Thanks very much for that, that is lovely, just what I had in mind. BTW, I could`ve thanked for the post instead but I am newbie and have not got a clue how to do that

Re: Laura Ashley

I was in Globus yesterday and they had very nice vintage furniture, mind you it was pretty expensive but I still managed to get a set of drawers...beautiful!

There's one in Geneva. They have both a clothing boutique and a home furnishing boutique (hope it's still the case, I have not been in a while)

I love Laura Ashley too

I have checked their website and they no longer seem to have stores in CH, sadly. Very sadly

Hmm...I got the link from Google but when I checked for international stores in Europe on the L.A. website, Switzerland was not on the list at all. Anyway, yes please, do let me know if you see one anywhere. Or I will give them a ring as soon as we are out there. Thanks

Re: Laura Ashley

There is a Laura Ashley shop in Mulhouse (France).

It is located in the mall "Porte Jeune" (http://www.portejeune.com/)

Just one hour with you car from Zurich.

Re: Laura Ashley

Hi,

Depends how much furniture you need. I've bought sofas etc form them and had them sent over from the UK. You've got the good exchange rate , you will also be reimbursed UK VAT , somehow I didn't get charged import tax in Switzerland ( although I don't think it would have been too much).

I got the furniture delievered from laura Ashley to the depot at Allied Pickfords removals ( i've done this twice no problems). It really does not cost as much as you would imagine for the delivery. As long as you arrange the delivery there is no problem as laura Ashley will not deliver themselves here.

Cosmic Girl - thanks for the tip. How did you get the UK VAT back?

I remember that I had to send back proof of delivery so I it must have Laura Ashley that organised the refund.I believe they must have send a declaration to the tax office on my behalf in order to refund me. But also confirm this with your removal firm to be sure.
