Hello Friends,

I am 25 yrs old guy living in Zurich since few months now..I am learning Deutsch but not good in speaking yet I have visited many pubs here but found very rare crowed who speak english

Please suggest me which pubs I should try or where I can meet some English speaking people to hang out and make local friends network

Tomorrow night is comedy night.
English Stand Up comedy at the Mascotte night club at Bellevue by the lake.

It's a nice way to meet people who have a sense of humour and enjoy a laugh. Doors open at 7pm, show starts at 8pm..No talking during the show please ;-)

Otherwise there is Paddy Rielly's which is busy on Friday nights till 1am and very busy during the rugby.
Other British pubs are not quite as busy with English speakers. I met loads of good and bad people in the Oliver Twist pub about 6 years ago but I think its clientel has got a bit less Anglophone in recent years.

There's a bustling pub quiz on Sunday nights at the Shamrock pub in Wollishofen, Zurich on Sunday nights. Turn up and ask the friendly owner Bart if he can fit you into a team. There is quite a good vibe there.
Every other Saturday (incl this Saturday) there's a pub quiz on at the St Joseph's Irish pub at Limmatplatz.

If you like English soccer the Nelson Pub near the Zurich HB train station is full of football fans on Saturday afternoons.

People is Zurich can be a bit stand offish in many places but the above places should have a few friendly souls there.

Check out the English Forum Social Calendar for drinks events as well. But if you turn up, don't be a wall flower and introduce yourself to a few peoplw rather than waiting for someone to come up to you.

A group of friends from English forum and I usually go out to have a few drinks during the week. There's guys and girls ( all english speaking) from the age of 21-32 so its quite wide range, I myself am 25. We usually have a lot of fun and glad to meet new people...

It's fabulous to know that there is comedy (in English) on tap in Switzerland. I'm keen to sample that ASAP.
