Re: Nanomania toys given out at Migros stores

As any game...kids and parents have more or less interrest in playing wiht it...and making your kid happy is anyway a nice feeling and a parental duty, isn't it ?!
As many of you, I agree that Migros has gone too far in "buying our kids' mind" this time and that there is even health danger with those nanos...I am therfore ¨strict" with this mania and my kids only get the ones from my occasional grocery shopping at the Migros (remember: LeShop.ch ! By the way, you not only get the joker delivered for sure but also at least 5 bags of nanos for every order...not like in the shop so if you want to reduce stress...). But there is 1 they just crave for: the pinguin nano...and we will be on holiday next week so almost no more way of getting it...Would anybody be so kind and save me some arguing by sending me this one ??As we do not have many nanos, I could offer an exchange only with an orange one (Halloween like - Morlo) and ev. a white one (Bodul). Thanks in advance.

We have penguin in double. It is yours. (It was actually mine. I kept on saying how cute it was and when my son got it as a double, he left it on my pillow with a note "this is for you Mummy" ) Pm me with your address.

Many, many thanks Belgium Mum, Eastenders and Millso (particularly the rocket from Millso .. quite unexpected and made the boy's weekend). All of your envelopes have arrived and we are now just 2 off completing our set, although the last two jokers are going by the board ... I cannot bring myself to change my shopping habits just to play their game ... Will get the boy to post his doubles here before he heads off on his skiing trip, leaving me (as with everything) to deal with sending them out Well there was a reason I decided to not go skiing ....

GRINS I admit the hunting gathering is just as much fun for me as playing later on with them for my lasses,,,,they are soon 13 and 15 and love the nanos to bits...so I presume it's the child in all of us that has emerged)

Re: Nanomania toys given out at Migros stores

My colleage was offered some yesterday when he was shopping but he said no as he did not know what they were. Behind the till was a group of kids who begged to let them have them.

So this is what Migro's is turning kids into??

How many of them will take them home and sell them on eBay/Ricardo......

Re: Nanomania toys given out at Migros stores

There was an article in today's 20 mins about a couple of guys who are "executing" nanos and putting the pics on Facebook. One method of "execution" was to play a Francine Jordi CD to it

What you need is to make a uTube video using one of those 'finger' Guillotine's

<iframe title="YouTube video player" width="480" height="390" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/GsdGqRGBGjs" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>

Not sure how many (not as into it as my kids) but you can buy a sticker album for a franc in which to stick your stickers ... and they're good for stacking, bowling, racing down inclined tracks with appropriately-sized grooves ... a few other things, I think, all fully explained in the sticker album!

So one would have to spend more than a thousand francs at Migros to get the full set?

230+ posts and Migros have an excellent PR coup based on jumping beans. Astroturfing?

As to their use, I was sceptical, but my son has just spent another whole afternoon designing a space planet for his nano collection to live on. I'm delighted with Migros ... particularly as I only shopped there twice during this promotion and instead relied on the kindness of neighbours and other EF'ers

Re: Migros- Nano Mania??

We're not collecting them either although we do shop at Migros, but my son's kindergarten teacher gave him one today! So far I've been unsuccessful at getting a coherent explanation out of him (Why did she give it to him? Is she going to give him more? Are they collecting them as a class, to play with at school? ...)
.
Are you sure the teacher gave it to your son? (Check the post from Siberian)

I am amazed at the number of parents who are scurrying around, spending money where they don't normally, in the interests of supplying their children with each little novelty that comes into the shop - missing a good opportunity to actually talk and educate about the pressure of advertising , let alone helping them to understand that "I want" doesn't always have to mean "I get."

Siberian, I fully support the consequence that you have dished out. I am sure that your child will look back in later years and respect your decision.

My mother always told me this:

It is easier to say Yes than to say No....

A yes avoid arguements, cries and fights... Easy.

A no, needs explanations, stand on your decision no matter the amount of tears, screams and fights.....
