Right - I have got one of the things and am dying to take it apart, find out what's inside - but I can't bear the thought it might be the very last one some poor expatlet needs to complete her collection and be the envy of all her little schoolmates.

Let me know! If I don't hear from any of you, I'll smash the thing sometime this weekend and report back what's inside.
I opened one and it contains a very high-tec gyro mechanism complete with a spheric titanium core that seem to float in mid air by an invisible force field. Also try leaving them scattered on a table in the evening, by morning you will find them perfectly lined up staring at you with dead, nano eyes.

TiMow, we have a few of those Migros marbles, I guess they might match the two you're missing. If you feel it's worth your time PM'ing me which ones you're short of, I'll have a look.
Hi,Swissoconnors,
just seen this; I'll get her to look to see which ones are missing, and will PM you details, if she's still interested in completing the set. Quite a busy w/e ahead, so unsure as to when this will happen, as she has to find the set, amongst all of her clutter.

That`s it: nanos are completely useless, just taking up space and that`s it...I guess kisd see this in a different way but for us, they`re just useless little devices...

Nanos are not useless at all. They make kids talk their parents into buying at Migros. That may make a difference of many million CHF. Do you call that useless?

Re: Migros- Nano Mania??

So it seems that we need BERTA.

We have a number of doubles to exchange.

Please send me a PM with what you are missing and we can hopefully organize something.

Scientific curiousity made me open the very first of those wriggly things I got. There's just a bearing ball and nothing else. I couldn't find a ball bearing .
Aha! Not quite nothing else.... the inside of each end has little ridges in it, spiraling all the way down to a flat bottom about 0.090" in diameter. Just tool marks of course but they explain the 'extra' wobbliness.

I couldn't get a good picture of the tool marks - they're only a couple of thou deep - but here's the griblet itself for anyone interested (along with the murder weapon).

If your new landlord knew about this, he'd probably not have let you sign up...

Re: Nanomania toys given out at Migros stores

I donated mine to the child in front of me who still packing (and was shopping on his own wierdly enough...) at which point, the man behind me made a coughing spluttering noise and glared at me, which I assumed meant that he wanted them.

So I said, sorry I've already given them to the child...he just shook his head and waved his hand at me...

These Nano-things could lead to violent brawls at checkouts soon, mark my words.

You mean the sound of a small child choking, perhaps?

Of course! It was a cleverly-disguised safety warning...

Unfortunately not... I thought he was a wierdo collecting the things himself (each to their own of course) ...now I feel distraught with guilt that I may have indirectly contributed to an innocent child's death...

I gave mine away at the check out too. There was a family with 2 young girls and they only got one Nano - the two girls were both staring at the one Nano so I thought it best to even things out.

If I knew what was inside maybe I would have kept it for myself

So far I only need five ... as I've not yet mastered a stack of five! Pretty close a few times, though ... only a matter of time ...
