Chemmie is probably right because with that budget, you may overpay for poor quality . You might find something in Mont Blanc for that budget

Added to which, their core business is pens, so the watch and other accessories are more fashion items than pure watch-making, as it were.
I third the Swatch watch option. If you want a "good" and "cheap" Swiss watch, then that's the only real option. Although, TBH, Swatch is also a fashion thing, but at least you don't mind so much if you lose it...

I got a Certina about a year ago within that price range and I am quite happy with it. They have nice models with different styles and not too expensive. I would buy another again, and can recommned them for the price range.

They re actually based in Le Locle in CH. Im not recommending the watch although I had one for travelling in places that I dont want to wear my best watch, but for the budget, they probably fit the bill as it were.

Perhaps they're still making an item or two in Germany (perhaps...), but now they're Swiss... at least on paper: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Richemont | This user would like to thank nomadic for this useful post: | |

| | Re: Help select Swiss watch brand | Quote: | | | | | Think you can find Mont Blanc in Vilnius | | | | | - I am pretty sure that Vilnius is in Lithuania, while the OP said he is in Belarus... ok - got it, you can drive over there, it's closer than I thought...
- Mont Blanc is a more than a century old brand for fountain pens from Hamburg. That's a city in Germany In times where "brand value" needs to be exploited, a pen manufacturer must produce whatever people are willing to buy, from leather goods like belts to fine Swiss watches. They do produce them in le Locle since 1997 and try everything to look older than that.
- I very much doubt that you can get a real Mont Blanc for 500 CHFs. The last one I looked at was about ten times the price.
I'd go for a Swatch or a Tissot.
