Searching for (imitation) Lederhosen for babies

Does anyone know where one can purchase lederhosen made from cotton for babies in Zurich?

Lederhosen is German, not Swiss. Suggest a trip to Germany for these...

As they are not washable - perhaps not suitable for babies?

Thanks, I just thought perhaps there was a novelty shop around that stocked them.

Hmm, I actually want "fake" ones made from cotton.. I should have included that in my op. Thanks!

Lederhose is made out of leather by definition. Just adding to the general knowledge of the forum community.

You mean baumwollehosen?

I've never seen them -- although, oddly enough, I did see vinylhosen for teddy bears in Munich during Oktoberfest last year.

Re: Searching for (imitation) Lederhosen for babies

You could doctor a pair of beige/brown cotton shorts .... add the braces with the little front piece and even sew on some decorative edelweiss type embroidered ribbon .. and some of those wooden button things. I mean it would obviously not be the real thing, but I think you could do a good enough job for people to get it .. is this a Fastnacht costume?

They're for an American friend of mine in the States who just had a little baby boy.

You can find a bunch of them on Etsy, probably straight delivered to your friend's place in the US. I like these the best, most authentic looking ones. You can get hand made, new, on Etsy, too.

Also thanks for the creative suggestion on how to make a cute pair.. I love at idea but I'm not very good with my hands.. I'm afraid it will look too amature to give as a gift if I made them

I saw the denim pair, really nicely done. And it was not so expensive, either. The blue ones with a little heart?

You've got me thinking now ... I am currently eyeing up my 3 year olds trousers and searching through my workbasket for edelweiss embroideries with a view to "lederhosenising" them .. I just love a challenge and it is such horrible weather .. what else is there to do!

@Meisie - They are real cute and am sooooooo glad you found something for your friend.

My Google searches yesterday evening didn't come up with anything useful for you but it did for me . I swear it came up under "babys lederhosen" or something similar!

LOL! No safesearch settings on mine but then I'd have to impose them myself and no chance of that, not when I'm gonna strike lucky with pics like that one.

Hehe, without even seeing that dude's face, he can be my "lederhosen baby" anytime! Oooh yeah!
