Love on the train

So after my recent experience of someone having their hair coloured n the train, I witnessed another amusing incident yesterday.
Got the train up from Geneva airport and this guy was in the seat next to us clutching a huge bag of oranges.
At the next stop this lady got on and asked to sit on the seat opposite.
A few minutes went by and he asked her if she wanted one of his oranges.
Yes, she said and they both tucked in.
Then she produced a bag of crisps which they then shared.
Then sweets
Then the phones came out
They then started to fix a date up.

So maybe to answer the recent question of someone looking for a date - maybe the answer is to carry a large bag of large oranges

How cute! And you were the official witness of the beginning of something special? Cute! You should ask them to send you an update!

Re: Love on the train

Well I met my OH on the train in London. I was on the wrong train, well the wrong part of a train that split up at Clapham Junction. When I realised this I asked the guy opposite what to do - so he married me (well, a few months later). And I didn't even have a bag of oranges - but a skiing suntan and a very short dress

Well, you never know when and/or how will LOVE get to you.
I was here visiting a friend and met my hubby walking in the forest

Funny Coconails how loves strucks amazing places. I certainly was NOT looking - and that was nearly 41 years ago (Easter 70).

ahhh spring is here!
Or as Erich Kaestner (1899 - 1974), German novelist and poet, put it:

"Die Eier werden billiger,
Die Mädchen werden williger;
Es stinkt aus den Aborten -
Frühling ist's allerorten."

In English:

"The eggs are getting cheaper,
The gals are getting more willing;
There's a smell from the loos -
It's spring everywhere."

(Sorry I didn't even try to make the translation rhyme.)

Re: Love on the train

That story made me say awwww Love news of a good romance. Sadly I only attract drunks and nutters on trains. Mind you I am causing a bit of a stir with the ticket inspectors as the moment. I have changed my hair colour, my photo on my pass is blonde and I have gone black. They are having to have several looks

Re: Love on the train

Clarejane when I met him on that fateful train, I was wearing a short blond bob wing I'd just bought at Carnaby Street. When he came to ask me out a week later, he found a girl with long brown/blond hair- the look on his face (he likes the 2nd version a lot better, lol).

I know, it was looking very unlikely I was also not looking , I was here only for vacation plus we were the kind of "Im never, ever, ever getting married"
long story short I felt an amazing click when i saw this gorgeous man (am I deeply in love or what?) he says the same and proposed 2 weeks after dating we married 1 year after he proposed and been together almost 3 and will continue that way until God decides .
40 something years of marriage, that is awesome!

How absolutely strange .. because a couple of years ago on the TGV from Basel to Paris, I witnessed a nearly identical date being fixed up that turned on the offering of .... a bulb of fennel to munch on.

Re: Love on the train

I have twice been offered gifts from girls on the seat opposite on trains in Switzerland.

One time a girl offered to share her vodka with me because she liked my English accent. The other time, two girls shared their home made chocolates with me at Christmas.

Neither of these ended in a date though. Probably because in both cases, I was almost certainly old enough to be their father.
