Grumpy- If you still need these and can provide a (roughly dimensioned) sketch I'm in the workshop today and could whip something up for you and post it so you have it tomorrow. There's a killer hardware store downstairs from me as well and they just might have something off the shelf.
you're a star! Going by the sketch I posted above, the distance from the head of the bolt (or the return of the "L") to the hole needs to be 12 or 13 cm (longer would be OK) and the max diameter of the rod/bolt is 12mm - 10mm would be fine. Let me know if you find something, I'm stuck at the market now until 8 and have early appointments tomorrow so running out of time to find one local

problem is the rod/bolt needs to go through holes in 3 aligning brackets, one on the back side of the trailer and 2 on the back of the ramp and it needs to be a 12cm minimum length. I can't believe that i haven't been able to find something off the shelf of the right size for this, even at Landi and other specialist farm machinery places.

The moped (or cycle I suppose) axle bolt is not something I had thought of.

Re: Big Bolts!?

Hi Mike/gg

In addition to the sketches already posted, it may be beneficial if you can take a pic. of the back of the horsebox and attach, where the bolt/latch should go; and if they should be 2, then include the view of the remaining one.

I'm sure there's a cheap and secure improvisation out there, somewhere.

Is 15mm OK for the head? (That's what I have handy...)

Can't PM you Mike so chime in if these look totally wrong- made them a couple CMs longer just in case. Heads are a little small looking but ought to do the trick. They're even stainless steel .

Re: Big Bolts!?

Just had a call from home. the bolts arrived special Express Delivery at the farm this morning. Mud, you're a star. And I have your return address on the packet so I guess you know what that means.

Many thanks again!

Ha, the nice lady at the Post said it wasn't 100% sure they'd get there Friday with A Post, nor Saturday as it was a package, so Express it was. When I was a little Mud my father told me,"Mud, always remember: tip your barber, take care of your cheese man, and say yes to your wife and you will have a long and happy life" . Glad to help!
