Ortho-K (Orthokeratology) Contact Lenses

Since these lenses are different that normal ones and are pretty specialized, I figured a new thread is in order. After seeing the video on Yahoo's main page today, I was intrigued.

Is anyone out there using these lenses or have you in the past? Can you share your experiences with them and, if possible, the names of eye doctors in the Zurich area that supply such lenses?

Yes, I've Googled them, and have found some info, but not a lot of specific details for Zurich. (Might be that I'm searching in English...)

Thanks in advance for your help.

Re: Ortho-K (Orthokeratology) Contact Lenses

sorry for bumping this thread so long dead - but i am seriously considering getting these lenses. (you were them while sleepin, thats it! you wont need any glasses or lenses to see rest of the time.)

Has anyone experience with these type of lenses?
sounds like a really good alternative to the LASIK surgery, isnt it?
You can get the prices of the lenses from this site in the UK:
http://igolenses.com/Night-Lenses.html
I can only imagine it will be more expensive here - is it worth it?

I've done ortho-k for 15 years until TODAY. This morning I woke up with extremely blurry vision in one eye after wearing my lenses last night. The OD said he quit using ortho-k in his practice because after prolonged use they can WARP the cornea. Yea they are great for short term use. Almost sounds to good to be true wear them at night see perfect tomorrow. Well it is too good to be true. It's gonna take 2 weeks for this warping to go away. They shouldn't be able to keep this on the market and I hope no one else is suffering like this.

I thinking of using this method too. At least for a 3 to 5 years, after which I will give laser a rethink (im guessing/hoping the technology will continue to improve).

Anyone else able to shed some more light on this method? I guess I know the pros, so I'm more interested in the cons...

Also, how much do you feel them in your eyes compared to regular contacts? Is it difficult to fall asleep with them in?
