Not sure if this is the right place to put this question, so mods please feel free to move it elsewhere.

About 8 or 9 years ago i went fishing at a place i vaguely recall being called Fange. It was quite a big lake (not anything as large as Zurich or Geneva) and had a road round the whole outside so you could drive all the way around it.

There was a shop where you could buy a day pass to fish and bait etc. I also seem to recall a guest house/restaurant opposite this shop. There wasnt much else around, just fishermen/women!

Soooo, does anyone know where i am talking about? I have scoured the internet and i cannot find the webpage or anything about it. I have absolutely no idea where it is in Switzerland.

Maybe it rings a bell with someone else? I hope!

Nope that's not the one unfortunately. It was Fange with an e on the end, i think pronounced Fangey. Whether that was the name of the lake or the area i don't actually know.

haha i'm thinking i dreamt it being called Fange and it's actually called something totally different. I'm currently googling all Swiss lakes..

I would love to help, I know that feeling of trying to find somewhere but all you have is a vague recollection of a name.

Maybe if you knew someone you went with, they could help you with the direction you were heading to, or from, or how far it was from some place.

haha i'm liking all the replies! Was told by an colleague about it years ago, he definately called it Fange. I have absolutely no idea where it was, and i drove there! haha. Erm can't remember what i caught, def not carp, just small fry. I did however drive there the night before and camp in a small campsite about half an hours drive from the actual lake.

Doh! i have photos somewhere! i will ''fish'' them out later and post them to see if anyone recognises it.

Don't really think it's a good April Fools if it is... which I don't think it is!
Anyway, wherever Fange/ Fangey may be, I think I'd quite like to go there now.
