Re: pianist and wedding dress advice needed

When you say "sleeves", do they need to be full length, or you just don't want bare shoulders?

You might be able to get a long summery sundress - white, simple, easy to find this time of year - and then add a white jacket or bolero to cover your arms/shoulders.

Re: pianist and wedding dress advice needed

Size should be the least of your worries. What matters is to find something that you like and have it taken it by a local seamstress which wont be too complicated. Dont restrict yourself to dresses with sleeves - consider what Mathnut said, with a smart bolero, lace shrug - which the local bridal shops will sell.

Another alterantive is to look at UK shops online, places like Coast, Warehouse, Karen Millen have wedding-y dresses. KM has a boutique in Zurich and will order in a particular dress for you if they dont have it in their shop. Their sizes run small too.

If you have friends there, get them to send it over. Alternatively, I am sure lots of EFers make trips there regularly and there will be at least one helpful soul who can bring it back for you. Good luck.

Re: pianist and wedding dress advice needed

The OP found a dress that she loves, as I said before go and find a person who can nip and tuck and shorten or whatever so that you can still wear your dream dress on your special day.

Also, she hasn't much time to find another. And what if she orders another one and that still doesn't fit? The poor girl will be getting married in her panties!!!

Re: pianist and wedding dress advice needed

Im also open to wearing boleros. Im still waiting for more EFers to keep suggesting shops in zurich and in italy where they have small sizes and we might have a look next week when my driver (bf) gets back. I have a short list for now. As for adjusting the dress...im also trying to avoid that.

Re: pianist and wedding dress advice needed

Maybe you can check this little shop in Zurich http://www.littleblackdress.ch/contact

Do you have time to a quick trip to Barcelona or Madrid with Easyjet? I normally buy all my clothes there, cheaper and nicer (Love Zurich but expensive and not very pretty clothes... sorry). Wedding dress shops:

www.josepfont.es
http://www.rosaclara.es
http://www.pronovias.com/
http://www.adolfodominguez.com/

Sounds crazy to travel all the way there just to buy one dress! It is a great excuse to visit Madrid or Barcelona (25 degrees and great Spring) Just a typ, if you decide to go, call the shops and make an appoitment first.

Good luck

Re: pianist and wedding dress advice needed

There's a shop in Basel who sells gowns & dresses. The owner is from Indonesia (if i remember it right) and they also import their goods from there so they have a lot of petit sizes. I can't remember the name nor the address (sorry) but would ask my friend who had a business card from them. will let you know

Look also in Zara, "Zara Woman" label, not the others. www.zara.com
