Trip Abroad - Employment? Citizenship? Health Insurance? Pets? College?

Okay, so I've done some research, and I'm planning to take a trip abroad to Geneva, CH after my first year of college. However, I'm still trying to sort out general necessities such as health insurance, pets, citizenship, college, and employment.

Health Insurance - I understand that health insurance is required for everyone. When I am in Switzerland, do I need to purchase health insurance? I'm planning on staying for 12 months if that helps. Do I need to have it if I am not a citizen? If I am a citizen? What is the breakdown here?

Pets - I have a dog and a cat... My mother is convinced that she is keeping my cat when I leave, so really I am only worrying about a dog. Currently I am looking at pet friendly apartments near the university. What process would I go through as a visitor? As a citizen? Would it be better to leave him in the US?

Citizenship - Would obtaining Swiss citizenship make anything easier or give me any advantages that a visitor wouldn't have? Would it make things harder? Is it required after a certain amount of time? Do I have to wait before I can get it? Anything else I should know?

College - Is it possible for my credits in the US to transfer to Switzerland? Are visitors allowed to attend Swiss Universities? Do I need citizenship? What is the tuition like? (Is there a tuition?) Does it work similarly to US Universities? I was hoping to gain educational experience from Switzerland when I go. Will Swiss credits transfer to the US?

Employment - Is it possible for me to obtain employment once I am in Switzerland, as a visitor? As a citizen? Would it be a good idea? Is the process similar to the one here in the US? Anything else I should know?

I really only ask, because when I try to read legal forums, and huge chunks of information, it is difficult for me to retain what I actually needed to know. Also, many of you have firsthand experience, and that is what I'm looking for.

Okay, so I've done some research,
Unfortunately not enough.

Welcome to the Forum.

I've closed this Thread, as it is hopeless trying to give you sensible and helpful answers in one area of the Forum concerning six separate subjects which all belong elsewhere.

I know it is difficult to find some things on here, but a bit of basic research, the Stickies at the top of each sub-Forum will answer some of your questions without you spending too long on it, would sort some queries before we start answering.

So, I suggest you do a day's research - and I mean really look, not glance quickly through Threads. Check the rulings and the law; some of the links are in English and are the official sources.

Then you can write a short Intro and afterwards post your questions in the Forums where they belong. But PLEASE do your homework first.
