This intensity is usually physical and as you get older you'll get uglier (sorry) and no one will want what you have to offer and you'll wish you were locked into a lifetime friendship when you're sitting along in your 400k apartment. | | | | | Definitely, 400k apartment is not enough for the old and ugly to have a lifetime friendship. One would surely need more.

400k savings does not even get the EF members agitated. Just look how sympathetic they are towards you. Imagine if you were on 120K+ annual salary!

I've been to Thailand a few times and had great holiday romances and loads of sex. With no regrets.

Zero savings... I'm one pay check away from being broke...
I'm a true free spirit and I think as a free spirit me and you should share the CHF400k

Here's another idea:
Go to Stockholm. Learn how to sail a boat. But a nice sea-worthy boat (uncle and cousin have 13 meter sailing boats, cost less than 100000 euro to buy good 2nd hand one). Go bumming around Stockholm archipel, make your way to mediteranian, continue to Madeira, Canary islands, make crossing to Brazil, go up the coast to Caribean...

| | Re: Reevaluating my life and need advice please. | Quote: | | | | | Speak for yourself...made a huge amount of money in the property bubble. | | | | | | Quote: | | | | | I never said noone has ever made money from the housing bubble... in fact a lot of people did and still do... People are cashing out and the people paying them are the ones entering the market now!
Just jumping on bandwagon and thinking that history repeats itself is a human cognetive bias that leads, but not always, to errors. The people who survive the bubble are the only ones likely to come out and say "Yeah! What are you talking about?! I made a sh** load of dough wheeling and dealing, renovating houses and buying property". What you won't see my friend are people who lost money coming out and saying "Well we jumped on the bandwagon like everyone else and unfortunately for us it didn't work, we lost money / we're in negative equity, but hopefully there is gonna be some idiot in the future who might pay more than what we paid for our place" | | | | |
And further evidence comes out today from Lloyds Banking Group as it reveals that 150,000 people are in negative equity, that's 5% of their customers or 15% of their mortgage portfolio... From what I understand that is not to say that there are 85% winners as the negative equity only effects people who have no positive equity when the house prices started going down... so if you had positive equity that has evaporated or is close to zero than you are not in negative quity just yet... Wait till the interest rates start rising and more of these will come out of the woodworks.

I just thought of a brilliant idea for the OP
.... wait for it....
Ok CHF400k will generate around CHF500.- a month after the 30% tax assuming 2.25% APR. That should be enough to sponser me to play poker semi professionally. Any gains generated will be shared 50/50 and you can trial it for 3 months with no downside.
Are you All-in or are you All-out

just a random fact |
