I have hardly ever seen 2 ugly or good looking, matching couples in life.
Coming back to this point I think matching couples in life is very common occurrence. People tend to choose partners who are of the same level as them. I go for ladies who are better looking than me though. As I am already good looking I end up with extremely gorgeous ladies.

Wasted if you are living in an incestuous region then I can understand why you might be seeing something else

It is on amounts up to CHF 100k, and has quite a few conditions attached. It didn't temp us to move our savings to CS.

  • Attractive Premium Interest rate of 2.25% on all new deposits of up to CHF 100,000
  • Interest paid from the date of deposit until December 31, 2011
  • Optimum security for your savings account thanks to depositor protection up to CHF 100, 000
  • Free account management
2.25% on all deposits of up to 100k? What happens to the next 300k?
Protection for first 100k only!

Should I just take 100k from PF and move it to CS? Is it worth having two different accounts?

It is a savings account. When you read the small print withdrawals are limited to something like 50k a year. Our bank manager was trying to sell this to my husband when he met with them recently.

I have a few different accounts. Only 100k is protected, so you should spread it around. Postfinance accounts are fully backed I believe.

Is that bad thing if I won't touch that 100k? In the worst case what happens if I want the 100k in one year? Will there be a penalty or they just won't give me interest?

2.25% just sounds so nice in these low interest days.

that's cos 400k is on the poverty line in switzerland.
I think on average Swiss have 1million in their account. If I had that I would not have started this thread. I would have bought a 500k flat and lived on the remaining 500k. I need to learn how to play Swiss Lotto one of these days.

It is on net amounts at 31.12.2011. So at 2.25% on 100k that's 187.50 per month for 7 months or CHF 1312. I'm sure you can find a better return on your money. From next year you can take out 50k and give notice (3 months I believe) to withdraw the remainder.

interest rate of 2.25% p.a. is valid from the date of deposit until December 31, 2011. A minimum of CHF 500 is required to be considered for the premium rate of interest; new assets of up to CHF 100,000 will earn interest at the rate of 2.25% p. a. Deposits received after May 31, 2011, will earn interest at the regular rate. Our regular interest rates will apply from January 1, 2012.
CS can go to hell! I ain't transferring 100k for few months of good interest rate only.

Re: Reevaluating my life and need advice please.

I concur the account is indeed useless and the interest you will get is only till the end of the year it seems (this bit I missed), I am with CS and no longer use their savings account for the same reason marie mentioned where they charge you 1% on withdrawals above CHF50k a year. If you want to withdraw more money you need to give them 6 months notice so it's basically equivalent to a 6 months bond.

It makes sense to open one if you know all the details and if you are getting more than 30% more than you do get with post finance. (which we don't know how much you get). I believe their normal rates are something like 1.5% or something.

There were a few threads about this and I thought you already saw them...
anyway here is my last post on one of them...

at least for sure he'll have spiritual sex with someone he really loves.
I'm sure it's possible to have good casual sex, but the most amazingly spiritual, mind-blowing (and regular 2-3 x a week) sex for me is in a long-term relationship. If you get that as a bachelor... good for you, I guess. Not that you need a lecture, but... Just be safe and be careful of the hearts you might break

So I will continue going for the good looking ones.
Most of those older, ugly girls will probably be in a long-term relationship already... hmmm or divorced .
Or go for the 'candy girls' who dig older men that have stacks of cash to buy them shoes and clothes etc.

One bonus to a long term relationship is you can pool resources. My hubby and I both earn well so over the last 4 years we've been able to save very nicely and will put a nice deposit down on an apartment. We came to CH with nothing and have lived quite well while saving. We bought our inexpensive little flat as soon as possible after arriving so we could save thousands per month in rent costs and earn capital gains.

We're going to earn buckets of CHF, bail from CH as soon as possible and buy a huge place in the middle of nowhere back home in NZ, and have (more than our usual quota of) mind blowing sx .

I'd really recommend putting your 400k in a house of your own. You're at the peak of your career and could have a nice life while earning a bit more for 5 years or so. I would avoid big mortages if you can, but don't buy freehold because you get taxed on it.

I would work in a steady job 50% to keep you and your property stable, if possible. I'd spend the other 50% of my time developing my own business. What do you do?

Puddy

You do realise that this is the reason house prices skyrocketed in auckland a few years ago? At the last change in government?

And they havent recovered? So average New Zealanders can no longer afford a house- which used to be considered a "right" in NZ - started by all the expats returning, and rich asians emigrating...

but hey.... just my 2 cents...

Fiddlers on the roof. You'd be equally surprised by what some builders can do to your property value in London.

It can be best described by the expression which would be synonymous for some rigorous and delibrately focused sex.
