Moving soon to Jongny near Vevey - would love some advice??

Not very easy in the winter, a 4x4 vehicle would be a good idea. I spent 1 year driving back and forth around that area.... with a tiny Fiat at the time.... It does seem to attract a lot more snow than Lausanne or Vevey.
Beautiful, quaint, and about 15 min to Vevey. Hope you enjoy it there.

We live in jongny and it's wonderful, one of the nicest places I've ever lived in. V quiet and v picturesque. I don't think you need a 4x4 it's all very near route de. Chatel St Denis which is a main route.

That's exactly what I am speaking about. The Chatel St Denis region is difficult in the winter. I used to drive 150km everyday and that area would always make me quite tense because the temperature can drop within the space of a few kms (no idea why) and the highway becomes slippery. I've seen cars and trucks slip sliding all over the place, all that was missing was the tune of the Blue Danube waltz.

Perhaps Chatel St Denis itself is easier than the highway beside it ?

I do know that guys in general tend to pooh-pooh female driving frights but I kid you not, there were days that were....
