Uncertainty kicked again!


Where to live between those cities for a Student?

Could get me biased answers though, but if anyone experienced the life in either or both of those cities, I would be grateful for your reply.

What is the context?

Would you be studying in the city or in Geneva for instance? do you have to live on a budget? do you want to work? what is your nationality? etc, etc, etc?

People might be more willing to help if they see you put a small amount of effort into the question.

Planning to live in either for 4 years in minimum, going to study in either on a government scholarship, gonna work part-time on the first year which I'll learn the french at till DELF B2, then after that I am going to quit working part-time to be free to study and pass the first year in the University, after that I might work part-time again.

Bachelor of Business Administration/Management is what I am planning to study, and it's in either University of Lausanne or University of Lyon 1.

I am keen into studying in Switzerland now, no more France for me thanks to their "Unique" University education system.

Switzerland here I come!

i was just gonna say i love love love lausanne. but as a student i think lyon is far more exciting, it's a great city to study in and i know many who have been really happy there- but good luck in lausanne, it's great here too!

You seem to like Lyon more than Lausanne I guess?


I am not the partying type, I prefer my activities to be outdoor and possibly away from the city (Riding watercrafts, skiing, riding ATV, or simply exploring mother nature).

And it seems Lyon has more nightlife than Lausanne, but not as much access to the outdoor fun.

Lyon has more everything than Lausanne. Not just nightlife but cultural events, resources, people to meet, clubs, organizations, students, etc .

Of course Lyon has access to outdoor activities. It's not covered by a dome. lol.

I would like to live in Lyon (Being much cheaper than Lausanne), but as I have said, the French Universities Education Systems was a big no-no for me to Study and Live in France.


So Lausanne is the best alternative for me right now.

Was thinking about applying to IUT department in University of Lyon 1, but discarded the idea later on.
