Just a question on this, I need my hair cut this weekend. In Ireland I would just have asked for a 4 on top and a 1 back and sides and just blend it in, but the last time I was at a hairdressers she said that in Germany or Switzerland a 1 would leave me bald and a 4 would be hardly any hair left too, does anyone know what way they do it here in comparison to say UK and Ireland?

Bringing this thread back to life.
Any update on where to go?
Initially I was going to Pure Aveda (cutter was Fred, did any amazing job, but he left) and then by chance I came across Coiffeur Salon Anoj at Dornacherstrasse 88.
This place was great .. CHF20 a cut, guy spoke basic English, not a fancy place, but the guy knew how to cut hair and could do what ever you asked.
Recently the place was closed for about 1 month and when I walked in, I was surprised to find it had been repainted and there were three young guys working there. Tried asking what happened to the previous guy, but this seemed to be a "don't want to talk about it" topic.
Haircut was not as good so heading back to Pure Aveda as Fred has returned however it pains me to pay CHF85 (previously CHF70).

He speaks a little English, but is the only male's barber in the women's hair salon. It's 25CHF, cash.
There's Taglio e Stile up the road next to the Levi's shop. They're good, too, but cut hair a bit too short for my liking.
Yes, good luck out there guys in Basel!

Schanzenstrasse 4, Basel.
He is highly booked, so make an appointment in advance.

Both of them speak english | | | | | Just visited Corinne at The Barber Shop ... VERY happy with the result ... now located at Innere Margarethenstrasse 9. Cost CHF51 for wash and cut and as a plus, she speaks good English.

Good morning All!
I am actively looking for a good, English-speaking barber in Basel (Allschwil also would be an option).
Last updates here are dd. 2016, so I really hoped that there might be a new place opened lately which can be recommended.
Have a good day!

I used this regularly when I was travelling to the office that way.
The lady speaks good English and she does a good job (as far as I can tell). https://www.luckyhair.ch/ |
